Jena and Stephen B. Hall Scholarships

The WithIt Scholarship program is pleased to announce the Jena and Stephen B. Hall Scholarship/s in the amount of $5,000.00 payable to the recipient's chosen educational institution.

Eligibility:

The applicant must be a a full-time college sophomore or junior in good standing at the time of application. Scholarship funds must be used for tuition at an accredited institution of higher learning by the date given with the scholarship.

Application Process:

Only one application per student. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All submissions should include the following:

  1. A complete application form signed by the student and where applicable by the student's parent or legal guardian.
  2. An official school transcript indicating the student's grade point average and the student's class rank. This must be sent by the school or student's faculty advisor.
  3. An SAT/ACT transcript provided by the high school guidance office.
  4. Three letters of recommendation - two from instructors and one personal one.
  5. A 300 word essay on why you are a candidate for a career in home furnishings.
  6. A high resolution jpeg photo of the candidate.

Selection Process:

Judging will be based on the student's academic performance, as reflected in the grade point average, SAT/ACT scores, and curriculum selected. Subjective judging criteria will include essays, references and a statement of personal goals. Special emphasis will be placed on involvement in extracurricular activities and the community. Financial need may be considered.

The Selection Committee will consist of a panel of three individuals chosen by the Scholarship Committee and approved by WithIt's Executive Committee. Preference will not be given to children of industry members.

Application Deadline:

The complete application must be postmarked no later than April 15, 2008.
